My name is Kristina, and I’m a 37-year-old wife and mom to three young boys and a crazy chocolate lab. I have a B.A. in Psychology from UC Berkeley, and I am also a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Pre- & Postnatal Coach, Certified Nutritionist, certified in group fitness, Certified Weight Loss Coach, Certified Lactation Educator Counselor (as appointed by IBCLE - the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners), and have taken a wide variety of continuing education coursework in postpartum nutrition, breastfeeding nutrition, nutrition for PCOS, and a wide variety of subjects related to lactation, sports nutrition, and physical fitness.
I have been involved in health and fitness industry ever since working as a weight room supervisor and group fitness instructor at UC Berkeley over 15 years ago (yikes!). In the corporate world, I served as my Fortune 500 Company's regional Health & Wellness Ambassador, running several fitness and nutrition coaching programs for thousands of employees. While online coaching is no longer a novel concept, I have been coaching online since 2013, when it was mostly an unknown. I have had the privilege of getting to know remarkable women from all over the world.
While I have coached people of all genders and all stages in life, I now focus primarily on serving my favorite group of clientele: moms. Moms who are fighting against sleeplessness, busy schedules, hormonal fluctuations, stress, sickness, their own postpartum recovery, lactation, work demands, family demands, unpredictable events regarding their babies, and just the general adjustment that comes with having a new baby. I understand and am sympathetic to all of this, because I have truly been there and have experienced it all. With this in mind, I structure your nutrition and weight loss plan to fit the demands of your life and not the other way around.
As women, we have been conditioned to believe that the key to a healthy weight is to eat less and to exercise more. Without really knowing what that means, so many of us force ourselves into a pattern of starvation diets, fad detoxes, expensive cleanses, and excessive cardio. While this may offer short-term water-weight loss, in the long-term, it often leads to metabolic adaptation, burnout, and a rebound to a weight heavier than when we started.
As a professional, my main passion is guiding people towards a healthier lifestyle - both mentally and physically. As a mother, my goal is to help other mothers be kind to themselves through this very vulnerable time in their lives; where the expectation is to "bounce back" and have the weight just "fall off". I encourage mothers to accept the reality of the intense demands being asked of their bodies after all it they have been through, and to give it the grace it needs it as it heals and nourishes their babies. Mothers need to honor the amazing things that they and their bodies are doing, often without the support of family, very little sleep, having to return to job, and learning who their new identity is as a mom.
Pregnancy and motherhood transforms us into powerful beings and we are forever changed for the better. My job is to help you to realize that every bit of you is every bit of this.
